The Royal Air Force Red Arrows will join the U.S. Navy Blues Angels in headlining at the 2019 New York International Air Show, August 24-25, 2019 at New York Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, New York.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, are one of the world’s premier aerobatic display teams. Representing the speed, agility and precision of the Royal Air Force, the team is the public face of the service. They assist in recruiting to the Armed Forces, act as ambassadors for the United Kingdom at home and overseas and promote the best of British.

The Red Arrows are part of the wider Royal Air Force and the team is a great reminder of the dedication and talented people found across the Service. Indeed, members of the Squadron have served on operational units, whether they be fast jet or helicopters, strategic transport or intelligence-gathering aircraft. Their backgrounds hint at the wide range of tasks the Royal Air Force performs today and is prepared for. As an example, the pilots have completed operational tours in Afghanistan and Libya, or been part of the Quick Reaction Alert in the UK and Falkland Islands, protecting our skies.

Flying distinctive Hawk fast-jets, the team is made up of pilots, engineers and essential support staff with frontline, operational experience. Together, they demonstrate the excellence and capabilities of the Royal Air Force and the Service’s skilled, talented people. With their trademark Diamond Nine shape and combination of close formations and precision flying, the Red Arrows have been displaying since 1965.

All Red Arrows display pilots have flown operationally, in frontline aircraft such as the advanced Typhoon, and helped the Royal Air Force to secure the skies every day of the year. Based at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, the Red Arrows had flown almost 4,900 displays in 57 countries, by the beginning of 2019 – the Squadron’s 55th season.

I’m going to the show on Saturday..
I have a couple of questions please

will the Arrows & Angels fly up the Hudson by any chance? I have a disabled friend who has a beautiful view and the the only time she gets to see them.

And.. Can we bring a small cooler?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Mau, the Arrows and Angels are doing a flyover the Hudson down to NYC on Thursday, August 22. They will be flying around the Statue of Liberty at about 9:30 am, then to West Point for a flyover, so you should be able to see them some time that morning. Coolers are not allowed – no outside food or beverage besides 1L of water per person.

  2. William says:

Do you know if they are putting on a show when they get to DC? Im heading up to your show , but DC is close as well so the chance to see them twice would be great

    • NY Air Show says:

Yes, I believe they are participating in some sort of demo, but it’s not put on by our company, so I’m not totally sure where and when! You might reach out to the Red Arrows’ website and ask them more about it.
