  1. Bill says:

What are the planned NOTAMS going to be for incoming Pilots? How much General Aviation Parking is there and when are the arrival/departure times?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Bill, we’ll be posting more about the NOTAMs in the next few weeks. There is no parking at the regular airport for anyone but those with boarding passes for flights departing Stewart International Airport. Air Show parking is in a completely separate area to minimize the inconvenience for those traveling in and out of the airport.

  2. Dave says:

Do General Admission tickets ever sell out? Is it pretty much guaranteed that I’d be able to buy tickets the day of the show? Or a couple days before?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Dave, so general admission does occasionally sell out on Saturdays, especially on years with big acts like this one. Sunday tends to be a little lighter. We do recommend purchasing early, just in case!

  3. Jen says:

At the NE Airshow the Blue Angles always fly at the end of the day. Is that true for this show also? Bringing younger kids that likely can’t last all day so I’d like to schedule around the time the Blue Angles fly.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Jen, yes, the Blue Angels are our last act in the lineup of both days. Air show typically runs from midday (noonish) to about 4 pm, though with all the acts we have this year, it might run a little longer than that. Safe bet would be no later than 3 pm likely, though we recommend building in time for traffic and crowds to your arrival time!

  4. Pete text 518-505-9819 says:

Is the “photo pit” and “Flight Line Club” two totally different Tickets? What if I wanted the benefits of “Up Close ” photography AND wanted the benefits of the Flight Line Club?….Is there a “combo ” package?….or, will the “Phot Pit” give me all I will need?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hi Pete, yes, they are two different types of tickets. The Photo Pit is typically reserved for the very avid photographers who wants the very best, line-of-sight shots of the planes. It’s limited to only a couple dozen attendees per day. That being said, the VIP area is just on the other side of the Air Boss stand and ALSO has great views, just not unobstructed because it’s an area meant to accommodate a couple hundred people. It includes food, drinks and other activities. My recommendation would be to do the Flight Line Club, and arrive early to grab a seat in the front row to get some good shots. Either way, you’ll have a great time!

  5. 2034701507 says:

Will there be a practice the Friday before the air show?
If so who will be practicing?
    Thanks in advance.

    • NY Air Show says:

We do a tiered discount system – our current % off will be ending in the next few weeks, so we recommend buying early to get the best discount available! Already added when you check out here on the website.

  6. Allison says:

Hi, do they typically fly as far as West Point or Newburgh? I was tortured as a child when Daddy would drag me to air shows. I wonder if I should do the same to my children to pay it forward or watch from a distance. Is there someplace online that outlines the typical radius and flight plan of the show? I cannot seem to find one. Thank you!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Allison, you made our customer service team laugh out loud! We are very for “dragging” your kids to see the planes. 🙂 Unfortunately, no, for flight security reasons, we cannot publish the flight vectors of our acts. They typically do not fly as far west as West Point. We encourage you to come out to the show! We’ll have some really awesome static displays, along with the aerial performance. A fun opportunity to create some memories with your kids like you have!

  7. George D says:

    Two questions:
    1. Is there a reduced ticket for the VIP area for designated drivers (those not drinking beer)?
    2. Is there a limit on how many beers people in the VIP area can consume for the included price?

We’ll be driving down from Boston, no airshows up here this year!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey George, no, there is no price difference for whether you are or aren’t drinking in the VIP area. The price is inclusive of food, drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), shaded seating, and an area right next to the Air Boss. We also try and do some cool activities – last year we had arcade games for kids and try and do some meet-and-greet opportunities with some of the performers. It’s a really great option.

  8. Angelo Ventura says:

I see the area for vip and photo shot, but where is the general admission seating area in regards to the show. Obviously they are in the air so should be able to see but how close to us are they and will children have any problem seeing?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Angelo, the general admission seats are along the same flight line as the VIP and Photo Shoot, just further down the line from the Air Boss stand. However, we have giant speakers so that everyone in the audience can hear everything! Kids will definitely have NO problem seeing – those planes fly all across the flight line!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Werner, parking will be available for purchase about 30 days prior to the show. We will post about it on our Facebook page as well as emailing all ticketholders to give you advance notice when it does, so no worries!

  9. Eric Gleason says:

We were very frustrated trying to leave the preferred parking lot today. There seemed to be no reason we couldn’t have been sequenced in with the shuttle busses. Instead we sat for nearly 45 minutes. We would have been better off of we hadn’t paid for the upgrade and just taken the shuttle to normal parking.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Eric, sorry for the frustrating parking experience. One of the challenges with the Preferred Parking area was that we were required to have guests wait until the Thunderbirds landed before we could release that area. We’re already discussing how we can move some things around in 2019 to make that a smoother experience for everyone. We appreciate you giving us your feedback so we have a chance to make it better in the future!

    • NY Air Show says:

I believe this is the 11th year? Going on the 12th? So we’ve been around for a pretty decent time. We love our friends at Stewart and the community’s great support of this show!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Valerie, they should hit your inbox within minutes of ordering – if they are not accidentally in your spam filter, would you email us at info@air.show so we can help you out? Thanks so much!!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Abe, no preferred parking unfortunately must shut down as of 10 am because of air traffic. You can still park in the general lot however.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey John, you might have some difficulty getting over to the show admissions gate, so we do recommend that guests come through the general parking area.

    • Stephen Van auken says:

I have to go from 84 to 747 to airport entrance. Not going to park. Need to get to a bussiness on hill off the entrance rd. Last year spent 1hr in line just to make a right turn. Is there a special lane to use for non air show?is there a way to get off internationalized so I don’t have to wait in traffic?

      • NY Air Show says:

Hey Stephen, unfortunately there is not. We’re sorry that you have to wait a little extra, but the good news is that it’s only one weekend a year, thankfully!

    • NY Air Show says:

Can be purchased right here on the website by clicking “Buy Tickets”. Can also buy them onsite at our box office if that’s more convenient for you!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Bert, a telescope probably wouldn’t be terribly useful, as the planes will be close enough that you can get good sight of them without the need of any type of lens.

  10. Stephen DiTullio says:

    hey, NY airshow
Myself & some military veterans will be attending the Army vs. Hawaii football game at West Point. this Sat.9/15/18. The game starts at noon & goes til 3pm or so. Is there any flyby over the West Point Academy football stadium? If not, can we request one. It’s a very short distance from Stewart Airfield to the West Point Academy by air, the Thunderbirds could probably get there in a minute or 2. This is a serious request for the patriotic fans, cadets, and players that could really make an incredible impression.
    Thank you so much.

    • NY Air Show says:

There’s no assigned seating in the Flight Line Club; we just ask that all guests please be courteous to their fellow VIPs.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Daryl, it provides admission to the show and a specific tent just for guests of our performers. When you get past the main gate, just follow the signage to the “Friends of the Air Show” area. There is seating there for you.

      • NY Air Show says:

Your parking pass should have come in a separate email – check your spam folder to be on the safe side, and if it’s not there, please contact our ticketing team at 877-766-8158.

  11. Molly says:

Hi! Our family purchased 8 VIP tickets and we only received one VIP parking pass. We do not have a vehicle that can fit 8 passengers. Can we purchase a second VIP parking pass? Are we allowed to drop off a few family members and come back and park? Thank you for your help!

  12. Al says:

hi i am traveling from new york city via the metro north . will there be buses available to take me to the airport. i have been looking and havent found an answer.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Al, our show doesn’t have the ability to provide buses from the metro station up to the airport, but you might check with the local county to find out if there is any type of public transit that runs. In addition, a lot of guests hop an Uber or Lyft to get from the metro stop to the airport!

  13. Daniel C Estela says:

If your a veteran and you want to purchase tickets at shop rite, do you have to show an I.D.?
Also the tickets that are flight line vip for $179 , is that for one person only?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Daniel, yes, I believe that they do ask that you have an ID of some sort to show your military service when you buy in person at the local ShopRite locations. The Flight Line Tickets are $179 per person, and are all-inclusive of food, drink, seating, shade, private restrooms and additional amenities.

  14. HK says:

Is this a for profit or non-profit event? Who benefits from the money collected for tickets and parking? Curious-can’t figure this out from the website. Thanks.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey HK, a for-profit company runs the show and manages all of the necessary expenses like facility rentals, permits, tents, chairs, paid performers, food vendors, staff management, etc., but we are thankfully assisted by a wonderful volunteer team of hundreds to make the show happen. A lot of people expect the show to be free, probably not thinking about the fact that it takes a LOT of money to put such a large-scale, multi-faceted event on! We also work with the generous support of NY Stewart International Airport, the Port Authority, and all of the great folks that work for the surrounding City and County government entities to bring tourists to the air show and support the many local businesses that are helped by the event. And at the end of it all, proceeds then benefit the work of our air and space foundation to assist kids to receive access and education on aerospace and aeronautics.

      • HK says:

Thanks for the info! I wasn’t asking because I thought the show should be free. I was asking because the Orange County Executive sent out a mailing about the show and I wanted to make sure that our tax dollars weren’t being used to promote a for profit event. Happy to know that any proceeds will be used for educational purposes.

  15. Ralph says:

My daughter has a severe peanut allergy, we usually bring our own food for her. Do you know if the food vendors will have an peanut free option OR should we just bring something and show the guards the epi-pen when entering?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Ralph, yes, please do bring your daughter’s own food, and if you’d just bring a doctor’s note along (or even the prescription for the epipen) that would be fine! I don’t know that our food vendors can guarantee no cross-contamination given the volumes of food with which they are working, so we’d just rather be safe than sorry when it comes to our guests with food allergies. Please let us know if you have any follow-up questions by emailing info@air.show.

  16. Jessica says:

I purchased vip tickets and I will be needing to bring a wagon for my mother to carry some items. Will there be somewhere to keep the wagon, never did vip before. Also since she is a diabetic and just had heart surgery she is on a specific diet does the doctors note just need to say that? Can she put her items in a soft insulated cooler to stay for the day? Thank you in advance!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Jessica – great questions! So a small wagon without a canopy would be fine, just ask our volunteers in the VIP area to find a place where we can safely store it when it’s not in use so that we can ensure clear walkways for all our guests. The doctor’s note just needs to note that she is diabetic, and yes, you may bring a small soft cooler with her insulin and small snacks. We do ask that you just bring enough for what she needs for the day! If you have any follow-up questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@air.show.

  17. Veronica Connell says:

We are flying out of Stewart on Saturday night to Ireland, is the parking for the show different from where we would long term park?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Veronica, yes, parking for the air show is out in a field separate from the long-term parking at the airport. You should be just fine, but you can contact the Airport if you have any follow-up questions.

  18. Jim says:

I am flying in for the event and will be parking my plane at Signature Air. They said transportation is available from the Port Authority building next to the Signature Air directly to the air show. Is that correct? Will I be able to get transportation directly to the entrance gate for the air show using transportation available at the Port Authority?

    • NY Air Show says:

Yes, but you should check with NY Stewart International Airport about times where there are flight restrictions before your arrival.

  19. Len G says:

I just recently learned about the show and was excited to make a day trip to see it. I am concerned that only two performers are listed and that whatever additional performances which might be scheduled are available only after purchasing tickets.

Every other air show I’ve attended (all of which were on military bases) has published their lineup well in advance. The deviation from the norm has me wondering if I should attend.

Can you explain the decision not to reveal a show line up? If not, would you please let us know what we are going to see? The current tactic of only revealing the lineup to ticket holders doesn’t build anticipation nearly as well as it builds doubt.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Len, we have our full line-up with more than a dozen performers on our performer page, which are available to the public. The only thing behind the password-wall is the specific schedule. Both Saturday and Sunday have the same performers, so the public is not missing out on any information that is not readily available on who is going to be there.

      • Bob says:

I don’t understand why the schedule needs to be password protected but I have three photo pit passes for Sunday and never received a password on any of my orders so I can’t access the schedule. Additionally, any chance additional military fighter jets will be added in the air? The show seems a bit “light” compared to prior years.

        • NY Air Show says:

Hey Bob – we’ll make sure you get the code. It shows as the email having been sent to this email address, but perhaps it ended up caught in a spam filter. We’ll private message you the information shortly. Thanks for being a member of our Photo Club!

    • NY Air Show says:

We’re watching the weather closely of course, but so far, it does not appear that it will affect the show. For our full weather policy, see above in the FAQs.

  20. Amy says:

What alcoholic beverages besides beer will be served? As for food, can you tell me what options there will be? Salads? Chicken?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hi Amy, for general admission, there will be food vendors selling a variety of bbq, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. For Flight Line Club, the menu is available on the website page. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase, in addition to non-alcoholic Coke products.

  21. Hudes Sabel says:

Hi.I want to know when is starting show what time and if is allow to bring kosher foods and if kids can see airplane how is look they never was on plane they wanna see inside of plane and did u have airplanes rides to do

    • NY Air Show says:

Hi there – so the gates open at 9 am, where guests can come in and check out our static displays. That’s your opportunity to get up close and see the airplanes! The aerial show runs from about noon to four PM, as noted above in the FAQ section. Please see above section on exemptions for outside food.

  22. Jean R. says:

Have a flight from Stewart scheduled for the 16th at 2PM, will we have e a problem accessing the regular handicapped parking. How early shud we plan to get to the airport as the international drive is open for both air show and flight passengers?

  23. Guadalupe Martinez says:

Hi, my parents are on vacation, but unfortunately my father lost his documents, IDs , passport, etc. Does he need identification to enter the show?

    • NY Air Show says:

While it’s generally recommended to have an ID on you at all times for safety reasons, no, there should not be a reason he would need an ID to come see the show.

  24. Kristin says:

Does everyone need to get on a shuttle after they park? Two years ago we had to wait in long lines and collapse our double stroller to put on a bus with our babies and supplies which was very cumbersome and almost impossible to hold them and carry stuff onto bus. Is it possible to park anywhere and just walk??

    Thank you

    • NY Air Show says:

Please contact the Memphis Belle staff directly – they will give you recommendations on how to meet up with them!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hi Laura, the air show is at NY Stewart International Airport, not the base. We do have security at the gate and positioned throughout the show to ensure all our guests are safe and follow all guidelines placed upon us by the airport for everyone’s safety. I suspect that your best bet would be to check in with his parole officer on whether he thinks it’s a good idea for him to attend the show.

  25. Christopher Kerr says:

Would we be able to go general admission area until the show starts and then go to our prefered area seats?

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Christopher, yes the general admissions area is open to the public, so you can come and go from that area as you please. Same goes for all the static displays and food vendors and such. Then when the show starts you can return to the preferred seating area.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Emily, the Preferred Seating is an enclosed area that is available to ticketed guests only. There will be a restroom area and designated food tent inside the area specifically for those guests, along with tented seating. The preferred seating themselves is set up in rows in an open area right on the edge of the tarmac, near to show center, so you will have a designated seat in a specific row, which you can choose when you purchase your preferred seating tickets. You’ll receive a wristband to come in and out of hte area to go check out the static displays and other parts of the air show as you’d like. Preferred seating prices do include parking as well in the cost. Let us know if you have any follow-up questions!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hi Cat, yes, that shouldn’t be a problem, but they should plan for extra traffic on the way into the airport depending on what time your flight arrives.

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Ristan, there are specific hours that NY Stewart International Airport will allow private pilots to fly in and out. Please contact them directly for further instruction.

  26. Mark says:

I purchased a photo pit access for Sunday and reading the comments on this page it looked like I needed to purchase a separate ticket to get in the event. I purchased it and I only received the photo pit access again and no entry ticket. Do I need both and if not why didn’t I get my entry ticket?

  27. Diana says:

So I would need a note from my doctor stating that I am allergic to certain ingredient is that correct. in order to bring my own snacks.
and am I allowed to bring in my EpiPen
    thank you Diana

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Diana, the EpiPen is an absolute yes; no worries there! Yes, do please bring a note from your doctor just noting the allergy that you have so that our security workers at the front gate know that it’s okay. Thanks for double-checking with us.

Logistics question. We are ticketed for the Flight Line Club and noticed that gate doesn’t open until 10:00. We are traveling from the Albany area and would appreciate any guidance you can provide about optimal arrival time(s) to get in line and best access route(s). I accept that the crowd will be very large and want to avoid spending hours waiting for parking.

Hey John, thanks for being a Flight Line Club member! Yes, we do recommend getting there early – VIPs have a separate parking area, so you shouldn’t have too big a deal with the lines. In addition, you have a separate entrance, so will be able to get in fairly easily. You can get in to look at the static displays starting at 9 am, it’s just the flight line club entrance itself that doesn’t open until 10, giving your private caterers enough time for set-up. We recommend getting there anytime between 9 to 10, because there will be a lot to see and do, but even if you get there after 10 you will be just fine! Show starts at 12.

Is the parking limited? If I arrive a little late by afternoon, will I be able to get the parking if I have purchased the parking ticket online in advance?

    • NY Air Show says:

You should be fine on parking, though we recommend getting there no later than midday to ensure you are able to see the whole show, which runs from noon to four.

Will the M1 Abrams be on display this year? I know it has been here before for quite a few years, but it is not listed under the static displays. Thank You!

    • NY Air Show says:

Hey Johnathan, you can arrive any time that you like between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm. Seating in the general admission area is first-come, first-serve, so if you arrive around noon, you may not have the best view, but you’ll still be able to see everything just fine! If you go with the preferred seating area, a seat will be reserved for you, so you don’t even have to worry about what time you arrive. Let us know if you have any follow-up questions!
